You can make an impact by giving to The Villages Regional Hospital Auxiliary Foundation to help us uphold our mission to raise funds and create awareness of the services which our hospital provides to maintain and improve the quality of patient care. Gifts of stock and other appreciated assets and gifts from your IRA are powerful ways to give big and give smart. You made a great investment decision; now you can make a powerful charitable decision. With these contributions, you not only benefit from regular tax savings but can also avoid capital gains taxes on qualified assets given for charitable use. Corporate matching funds
Some companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. Current statistics show that a majority of match-eligible donors do not know if their company offers a matching gift program. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio but some match at a 2:1, 3:1 or even a 4:1 ratio. Ask your employer if they participate in such a program. If they do, they can provide a matching form for you to complete and your donation could be doubled or even tripled.
We thank our team members for their generosity. Over 250 Central Florida Health team members contribute nearly $15,000 annually to our Foundation. They know that money we receive is used to maintain and improve the quality of patient care at our hospital. At the end of 2016, after 3 years, the Foundation had been able to contribute more than $4,000,000 in cash, equipment, and scholarships for team members and high school students who wanted to pursue medical careers. We had a strong base of annual fundraising activities but wanted to provide a perpetual source of income into the future. An endowment fund was the answer and the Foundation approved a contribution of $100,000 to establish the fund. Today the fund totals $400,000. These gifts can take the form of bequests, charitable gift annuities, appreciated securities, insurance policies, and appreciated real estate, among others. All donations are invested by professional money managers and only the income from those investments can be used.
