Our volunteer numbers are quickly approaching 1,000 strong. We would love to have you join us. The hospital uses volunteers in nearly 40 different departments and many have openings at the present time. We ask our volunteers for a commitment of only 4 hours per week. There are 3 shifts a day, 7 days a week. Most shifts are 8 am to noon, noon to 4 pm or 4 to 8 pm. Special shifts at different times are available in some departments. When you choose to volunteer, your service becomes an integral part of our mission: "To improve the health and quality of life of the individuals and communities we serve." You can choose to volunteer with our hospital staff, as a volunteer musician, or offsite at our thrift shop. We also invite students between the ages of 15 to 17 to join us for summer volunteering.

Our hospital chaplain also offers a chance to work with the "No One Dies Alone" (NODA) program. The vision of a world where every human being has another person with them at the end of life is the inspiration behind the program. Volunteers keep vigil with patients who are dying and have no family around them. The program is administered by our Chaplain Becky Ernst and she can be reached at 352.751.8102 for more information.
